To meet all your pet's needs, on-site boarding and grooming are available.
Preventative Care Exams at Our Clay Veterinarian
During business hours, our doors are always open for walk-in emergencies, but of course, we prefer to see your pet by appointment during good health. Preventative care exams at our Clay veterinarian include nose-to-tail checks where we take vitals, examine muscles, organs, eyes, ears, mouth and more. We may also take blood and urine to screen for underlying conditions. If your pet presents with pain, weakness or pregnancy, on-site imaging of digital X-ray and ultrasound can help diagnose.
Dental Care
Pets often suffer unnecessary illness and pain due to the effects of dental disease. Routine dental care is an important part of preventative care. In addition to teeth cleaning at home with a pet-safe toothbrush and toothpaste, we recommend yearly teeth cleaning under anesthesia, which provides your pet with an unmatched deep cleaning while allowing us to more thoroughly examine the teeth and gums. During surgery, we are able to remove oral growths and broken, chipped or otherwise damaged teeth that can cause pain and infection and interfere with your pet's ability to eat.
Vaccinations
For cats and dogs 6 weeks and older, vaccinations are the best way to prevent deadly diseases. Our Clay veterinarian recommends all core vaccines on a timed schedule with boosters given as needed. Pets that visit certain areas or board with us may need additional non-core vaccines. Core shots for cats include rabies, feline distemper, feline herpesvirus, and calicivirus. The core shots for dogs are rabies, distemper, parvovirus and adenovirus types 1 and 2.
Pet Surgery
Our animal hospital is equipped to handle a wide-range of scheduled and emergency pet surgery procedures, such as orthopedic, soft-tissue, dental, sterilization (spay and neuter), and specialty services, including declawing, ear crop, tail dock and more. If your pet is in an accident, emergency pet surgery is the first step to heal fractured bones, ligament tears, and soft tissue injuries. When illness strikes, our surgical team is here to repair organs or remove tumors, as necessary.
